Chinese Style Theory of Modernization and Peaceful Development in China

There are many interpretations of the Chinese style of modernization, with respect to the achievements made in this process. In particular, China’s path to modernization is one of peace and development, win-win cooperation, and harmony between man and nature. Chinese-style modernization is modernization of peaceful development. China’s modernization is an ongoing process. With the rapid development of China’s economy and the increase of its international influence, the Chinese-style modernization model and its ideas have received much attention worldwide.

Chinese-style modernization, is a modernization rooted in the soil of excellent Chinese traditional culture. This Chinese-style theory of modernization embodies the wisdom of ancient and modern China, and includes not only the common elements of the modernization process of all countries in the world, but also China’s own characteristics.

China’s modernization, which aims at achieving common prosperity for all people, shows global significance. China’s modernization pushes the pattern of building a community with a shared future for mankind, and provides opportunities for all countries to promote their own modernization. As history and culture differ from country to country, so does the pace of development.

The successful experiences of Chinese-style modernization show that each country must find a development path that suits its national conditions.

Chinese-style modernization pursues “common prosperity for all people”. In the ten years of the new era, China has established the largest social security system, the largest medical and health system, and the largest education system in the world, and all people have benefited from the development results. Nearly 100 million people have been lifted out of poverty, and the problem of extreme poverty has been solved historically, highlighting the success of China’s modernization experience.

We see that during the meetings of the two annual sessions this year in China in March 2024, the concept of (Chinese modernization) within the framework of China’s development attracted much attention. Highlighting China’s commitment to promoting high-quality development with new productive forces and promoting Chinese-style modernization, bringing inspiration to the world’s development and economic cooperation.

Chinese modernization emphasizes the importance of material, cultural, and moral progress. This sets it apart from Western modernization. By aligning material, cultural, and moral progress, the way is paved for overall material abundance and overall development of citizens.

Chinese-style modernization goes beyond simply eradicating extreme poverty. It also promotes shared prosperity, thereby narrowing the vast gap between rich and poor that accompanies Western modernization.

China’s call for comprehensive modernization, both within and outside the Chinese state, to achieve common prosperity and establish a society characterized by greater justice and equality, is a very important message not only to China and the Chinese people, but also to the world, to affirm that China shares its path to modernization, its development returns with the rest of the world. An example of this is (China’s Belt and Road Initiative). The World Bank predicts that if all transportation infrastructure projects planned under (Belt and Road) are implemented, the initiative will generate annual global revenues of US$1.6 trillion by 2030, up to 90% of these revenues will go to developing countries and poor partner countries.

In this context, the most important thing about the (Belt and Road Initiative) is that developing countries can benefit from the great experience embodied in China’s development. The Belt and Road Initiative gives them the chance to create an industrial society and join the modern era. This bodes well for the (future of humanity toward comprehensive modernization) of developing countries and poor countries with Chinese assistance in the long run.

I believe, as an expert in Chinese political affairs, that the process of Chinese modernization (the strong bond between the Chinese Communist Party and the people) is emphasized, as the loyalty of the Chinese people to the political leadership does not arise in a vacuum, but rather through a continuous process of modernization, to alleviate poverty and improve the living standards of citizens and achieve sustainable development”. With the development of the times and social progress, there is no end to satisfying people’s aspiration for a better life. The report of the (Twentieth National Congress) of the Communist Party of China made detailed commitments to improve the well-being and quality of life of the people, to continuously realize the people’s aspiration for a better life and to achieve a better model for Chinese updating.
