14 Palestinians killed by Israeli airstrikes in Gaza: Sources

Gaza: At least 14 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in the northern Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources said.

Israeli fighter jets have bombed a house in the Jabalia refugee camp, killing a journalist, his wife, his two children and his special needs mother, security and medical sources told media on Saturday.

Warplanes have attacked another house in the Zarqa neighborhood, north of Gaza City, killing two people and wounding others with various injuries, sources said, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

In the Al-Saftawi neighborhood of northern Gaza, planes bombed an occupied house, killing seven people, including children and women, sources said.

Meanwhile, air and artillery shelling continued in the Rafah and Khan Younis areas, south of the Gaza Strip, and the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, eyewitnesses said.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Saturday that its operational activities in the enclave continue.

IDF forces continue “precise, intelligence-based operational activities” in the Rafah area and operate in central Gaza, conducting targeted raids on infrastructure sites in the area, it added.

On Saturday, Gaza health authorities said in a statement that the Israeli army had killed 37 Palestinians and wounded 54 others in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll since October 2023 to 38,919, while 89,622 have been wounded.

Israel launched a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip in retaliation for Hamas’s raid on Israel’s southern border on October 7, 2023, which killed some 1,200 people and took about 250 hostage.
