This tree-lined path connects the suburb of Flint Township with downtown Flint, passing through Chevy Commons Park, a reclaimed industrial site that was once home to the “Chevy in the Hole” factory and has been converted into a riverfront green space. Parking is available at both the southwest end of the path and the eastern end of the path in downtown Flint.

The Iron Belle Trail spans more than 2,000 miles from the western tip of the Upper Peninsula all the way to Belle Isle in Detroit, with two routes – one for hiking and one for biking. There are still sections of the trail that are being completed – check out this interactive map of the state of Michigan to stay up to date.

Located in the 550-acre William P. Holliday Forest & Wildlife Preserve, this 5.7-mile loop trail near Westland in Wayne County is great for nature walks. There are more than 10 miles of trails throughout the preserve.

Hike the 8.5-mile paved trail around Kent Lake or explore the unpaved trails at Kensington Metropark. There is also a walking trail where you can hand-feed birds including chickadees and woodpeckers.

More than 34 miles of trails wind through woodlands and rolling farmland in the 13-acre Mike Levine Lakeland Trail State Park. Hike through forests, meadows, picturesque wetlands and along the beautiful Huron River.

The 54-mile Bridge to Bay Trail follows the St. Clair River from New Baltimore in Macomb County to Algonac State Park and north to Lakeport State Park in St. Clair County. The trail passes through local downtowns and neighborhoods, and past parks, museums, beaches and lighthouses.
