Nashik: Five talukas in the district are now tanker-free due to good rainfall that led to rise in groundwater level and rehabilitation of boreholes. The number of tankers in the district has now come down to 188. At the peak of the dry season, a total of 388 tankers were used to supply water to villages in 12 of the 15 talukas in the district. Five talukas that have been declared tanker-free are Nashik, Trimbakeshwar, Igatpuri, Peth and Surgana.
