Stockton City Council on recess through August

Stockton City Council on recess through August

According to the city calendar, the Stockton City Council will not meet next month.

However, all other municipal functions will remain open, the interim municipal clerk said on Friday.

“Many of the staff who primarily support the council are taking leave during this period, but we are all still open,” said interim clerk Katherine Roland.

The next council meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 20 at City Hall, according to the city calendar. The council typically meets about twice a month.

But council members often plan for a summer recess when they approve the meeting schedule each year, city spokeswoman Connie Cochran said. The council last met July 9.

While the full council is on vacation, committees made up of council members will continue to meet, depending on the availability of the committee members, Cochran said.

The dates of committee meetings can be found here.

According to Roland, citizen councils and committees will also continue to meet.

Details of the committee meeting can be found here.

The Stockton City Clerk’s Office is calling on residents to sign up to serve on the city’s 21 boards and commissions, which are tasked with advising the City Council on a variety of issues.

A description of each assignment and information about the application can be found here.
