Scammers pose as police sergeant during calls: authorities

Easttown Police said someone is posing as Sgt. David Gilmore in a scam. Police are urging residents not to give the caller any personal information.

EASTTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Easttown Township are warning residents about a scammer posing as a local police officer.

Authorities said residents told them someone called them claiming to be Easttown Police Sgt. David Gilmore.

“This is a scam call, please do not give them any personal information,” police said Monday.

Anyone who gave this scammer their personal information should report it by calling 610-647-1440, police said.
