Obituary of Roger David Triplett, Union Township, PA

UNION TOWNSHIP, Pa. (MyValleyTributes) – Roger David Triplett, 40, of Union Township passed away Saturday afternoon, July 20, 2024, with his wife at his side at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, following complications from his 2013 lung transplant.

Roger was born on May 24, 1984 in Marysville, California, the son of Ronald “Pete” and Sharon (Reynolds) Triplett.


A self-taught musician, he was a talented guitarist and bassist. While living in Sacramento, California, he played bass in the well-known Highway 12 Band and had previously played in a band with his brothers and promoted several local music shows. Roger was also a luthier and had built several guitars with his niece, Cheyanne.

Roger was a Christian.

Despite the various health issues he faced in his life, Roger had a very light-hearted attitude and was always quick with a joke. He loved to travel, especially with his wife Kristina, and was able to visit the United Kingdom and 45 of the 50 states.

His beloved wife Kristina Maria Brandy (Vaskis) Triplett, whom he married on October 7, 2006, has been married for 17 years and still resides in their Union Township home.

Roger is also survived by his parents, Pete and Sharon Triplett, Cottonwood, California; two brothers, Ronald Triplett (Carolyn), of Oregon, and Rick Triplett (Brittany), of Redding, California; his mother-in-law, Terri Vaskis, Red Bluff, California; a brother-in-law, Rutger Vaskis (Vikki), of Panama City, Florida; four nieces, Cheyanne, Aleena, Mia and Hazzel; a nephew, Devin; several aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his younger sister, Amy Triplett.

Visiting hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

The funeral service will be held immediately following the service on Saturday at 11:00 am in the funeral home.

Burial: St. Mary’s Cemetery, Union Township.
