Research shows 2 Florida cities are among the most walkable in the world

ORLANDO, Florida.Traveling is so expensive, especially transportation. Some solutions are to buy a rental car, take the bus or walk. AllClear Travel Insurance conducted a study of cities around the world where you can walk.

A recent survey by AllClear Travel Insurance found that the world’s cities are best suited for walking. Four U.S. cities made the top 20. Two of those cities were in Florida.

The report found that Miami is the ninth most walkable city in the world, while Tampa ranks fifth.

Amsterdam comes first. Famous for its art, architecture and charming canals, the city offers numerous side streets and attractions that are perfect for pleasant walks.

The top 20 cities in the world for walking, according to the research, are:

  6. Cancun, Mexico

  11. Riga, Latvia

  12. Sacramento, CA and Tampa, FL

  13. Dubai, United Arab Emirates

  14. Buenos Aires, Argentina

  15. Copenhagen, DK & Portsmouth, UK

  16. York, UK

  17. Chennai, India

  18. Jakarta, Indonesia

AllClear Travel Insurance has compiled a list of 242 cities worldwide based on desk research. This includes all cities that are generally considered hilly or flat.

To reveal which cities have the lowest overall elevation and smallest elevation changes, and are therefore the most and least walkable, the travel insurance company analyzed data from topographic-map.com. All values ​​were then weighted and normalized to give “difficulty” scores out of 100.
