Landslide hits football field in Lakhuti Village, gallery and retaining wall collapse

The recently constructed football field, funded by Khelo India, in Lakhuti Village with 39 A/C, Wokha district, is the latest victim of a landslide that occurred in the early morning of July 22.

The football ground was opened last year on December 16, 2023 in Lakhuti Village at a cost of around Rs 5 crore.

The retaining wall and gallery collapsed due to the landslide, seriously affecting the recently completed site. Doubts have also been raised about the structural integrity and safety of the site.
