A driver who lost his license due to a drunk driving conviction was jailed following a traffic stop in The Villages.

Paul Panico, 64, of Lady Lake, was driving a tan sedan when he was pulled over on Chula Vista Avenue in the Village of Mira Mesa at 3:15 p.m. Sunday. An officer ran his license plate and discovered the driver’s license of the vehicle’s registered owner had been revoked, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

Panico was arrested in January on a charge of driving under the influence and in April he pleaded no contest to the case. He was given a year’s probation and his driver’s license was revoked for six months.

After the officer confirmed the suspension, Panico was arrested on a charge of driving while his license was revoked. The New York native was booked into the Lake County Jail without bail for the probation violation.
