Show-stopping weapons maneuvers, precise throws, intricate exchanges and walking through a crowd of spinning guns are all in a day’s work for the US Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team.

On Wednesday at 7 p.m., the team will kick off the first performance of Drill at Dusk in National Harbor, Maryland, a 10-minute performance of choreographed sequences that dramatically demonstrate precise military exercises.

The Guard of Honour introduced the event in 2022 as an opportunity to connect with the local community and gain insight into the culture of the military with around 300 spectators attending each evening.

Over the years, the Honor Guard Drill Team has partnered with the Air Force Recruiting Service to perform at hundreds of locations. The team visits various Air Force bases and community events around the world, and performs for thousands of people visiting the nation’s capital at various national monuments in Washington, D.C.

The team is stationed at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, DC
