Livingston Parish car theft investigation leads to arrest of Denham Springs man

LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — A recent vehicle burglary investigation by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office ended with the arrest of a Denham Springs man.

Lewis Lemon, 34, of Denham Springs, was arrested and taken to the Livingston Parish Detention Center.

Officers from the LPSO Uniform Patrol and LPSO burglary detectives were called to the Acadian Trace Subdivision on James Chapel North Road in Albany on Tuesday, June 23 at approximately 5:20 a.m. in reference to several thefts and vehicle break-ins.

During their investigation, officers found video surveillance that showed Lemon wearing red shoes and a black tank top, Sheriff Jason Ard said. Officers also discovered a gas-powered bicycle hidden behind bushes in the back alley of the neighborhood.

According to Ard, LPSO set up surveillance in the area. They were able to locate Lemon as he attempted to escape on foot. Ard stated, “A perimeter was set up and our LPSO K9 partners were called in.”

Officers found Lemon in a field, hiding under a pile of wood. Ard stated that Lemon was arrested by K9.

This is an ongoing investigation.
