British Foreign Secretary David Lammy visits Delhi.

British Foreign Secretary David Lammy will arrive in Delhi today. He will mainly hold talks on strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

The visit marks the first high-profile delegation from London since the formation of the Labour Party government under British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Secretary Lammy will meet External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar tonight. Mr Lammy is also expected to hold talks with Commerce

Minister Piyush Goyal and NSA Ajit Doval, and a visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Earlier, during a phone call on July 6, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer discussed the importance of the living bridge between the UK and India, the 2030 Roadmap. They agreed that there are a wide range of areas across defence, critical and emerging technologies, and climate change where the two countries can deepen their cooperation.
