QFFD Signs Agreement to Establish Qatar Square in Tirana, Albania

Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has signed a grant agreement with the Municipality of Tirana to establish Qatar Square in the capital of the Republic of Albania, Tirana. The agreement was signed by Acting Director General of QFFD Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Aseeri and HE Mayor of the Municipality of Tirana Arion Vellai. The signing ceremony was attended by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Tirana Jaber bin Ali Hussain Al Dosseri. The main square will be built on an area of ​​23.7 thousand square meters. It will include various facilities such as squares for parties, exhibitions and events, some shops, meeting areas and a water fertilization system for the Lido River to preserve natural irrigation water for the garden. The project with long-term development goals aims to create a suitable environment for the construction of 25,000 houses in the area surrounding the square. In addition, it offers diverse employment opportunities for Albanian citizens, as the establishment of this project contributes to the development and revitalizes the local labor market by making this square an important center. It also reflects the essential role of the State of Qatar in the development of other countries and societies in various sectors.
