Elizabethtown Police Issue Statement on Possibility of “Drug Cartels” in Neighborhood

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) – Elizabethtown Police Chief Derek Koch released a statement Friday afternoon saying there have been investigations into “drug cartels” in the area.

According to Koch, releasing information about recent investigations into criminal organizations “could jeopardize any current or future investigation.”

Koch said he wanted to assure residents that the neighborhood is safe and that police will investigate criminal activity promptly and thoroughly.

You can read the full statement below:

“The Elizabethtown Police Department has recently received several inquiries regarding criminal organizations, specifically drug cartels, operating in Elizabethtown Borough. Releasing sensitive, criminal intelligence information such as this could jeopardize any current or future investigation, so I cannot comment publicly on this matter, but I want to reassure everyone that Elizabethtown Borough is a safe community and residents can trust that the Elizabethtown Police Department will promptly and thoroughly investigate any claims of criminal activity.”
