Appleton Post-Crescent has a new reporter for The Buzz

Now that I’ve lived in Appleton for the past twelve years and am originally from California, I’ve fallen more and more in love with the Fox Cities and all it has to offer.

One thing I love most about the Fox Cities is the variety of businesses that have opened and flourished since I arrived, which is why I’m more than excited to be a reporter for The Buzz. I look forward to getting to know the Fox Cities’ business owners and their stories, and learning more about the restaurants, shops, and venues that make these communities such great places to live.

For the past two decades, The Buzz has brought a variety of local business reporting to its readers, covering business openings, closings, expansions and more. It has played a vital role in sharing the stories of business owners and keeping readers informed about what’s happening in the Fox Cities.

As The Buzz, I hope to continue to provide exciting and informative content. I will also be taking over The Buzz newsletter, a bi-weekly email newsletter that will keep you up to date with all the latest Buzz content. You can subscribe to the newsletter here or sign up on The Post-Crescent website.

As a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stout, I was a writer and managing editor for the university newspaper, Stoutonia. During that time, I also worked as a reporter for the Harvey Hall News Service, covering important events in the area. I spent two years getting to know Dunn County, which gave me the opportunity to develop my reporting skills and see the importance of local news and community involvement. I have grown to love not only reporting local news, but also giving community members a voice.

I look forward to hearing from our Buzz readers and encourage you to keep sending in your tips, ideas, and questions! You can reach me at [email protected] or 920-515-2729.

The previous Buss reporter, Alexandria Bursiek Kloehn, is now a local business and features editor for The Post-Crescent and Green Bay Press-Gazette. In the meantime, regional food and drink reporter Jelissa Burns wrote for The Buzz and will continue to write occasional Buzz stories to keep readers informed going forward. Her primary focus now will be on all things food and drink. You can email her at [email protected] with questions, tips or ideas.

If you’re interested in staying up to date on all the upcoming Buzz stories, I encourage you to consider a digital subscription to The Post-Crescent, which gives you full access to our online content. Not only will this give you the inside scoop, but you’ll also be supporting local journalism and allowing reporters like me and the rest of us here at The Post-Crescent to continue bringing you great, informative content.
