Detroit Police Investigate Shooting on Detroit’s West Side

Detroit’s West Side 5:50 p.m. 7/26/24: Shooting: DPD’s 6th Precinct in the 8900 block of Mansfield x Ellis responding to a shooting. Detroit Fire’s Engine 53 and Rapid Response Medic 51 also responded to the scene.

Reports indicate that CPR was already underway prior to DFD arrival and continued in Rapid Response Medic 51. A firefighter from Engine 53 accompanied the medics to a local hospital.

DPD scouts from the 6th Precinct blocked off emergency room intersections leading to the accident scene and the hospital.
