Woman injured in serious car crash late at night in Moore County

PINEHURST, NC — A woman was taken to the hospital Friday evening after a serious car crash in Moore County.

The incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. on Midland Road in Pinehurst.

According to police, the woman crashed into a tree in the median strip. Her condition has not yet been released.

Authorities suspect that speed played a role in the accident.

The accident temporarily closed the eastbound lanes of Midland Road in Pinehurst.
