Work is also underway to clean and restore water-logged areas. Equipment such as JCBs, blasting machines and other necessary machinery are being used to remove debris and clean water tanks. Dr. Bhosale indicated that additional manpower will be allocated from other departments to speed up the cleaning process.

Regarding compensation to those affected by the floods, Dr Bhosale assured that the Panchnama (damage assessment) process would be completed by Saturday and reports would be sent to the district administration. He also mentioned that the Water Resources Department would provide details to the District Magistrate about the discharge of river water and its impact on floods.

Dr Bhosale responded to allegations that the river front development (RFD) in the Bundgarden area had caused water stagnation and subsequent flooding in the upstream area. He stated that the RFD project had been approved by the Water Resources Department and promised a thorough assessment of the situation to understand the impact of the works.
