King Charles and Prince William argue over sensitive issue after cancer diagnosis

King Charles III demanded that Prince William sign a statement after he was diagnosed with cancer.

This detail emerges in Robert Jobson’s new biography, Catherine, The Princess of Wales, in which he chronicles Princess Kate’s journey from ordinary student to mother of three and future queen.

According to royal reporter Jobson, the dispute arose after King Charles was diagnosed with cancer, forcing him to temporarily step back from official duties.

While discussing a sensitive subject with his eldest son, Charles was deeply concerned about his own mortality and the future of the monarchy.

King Charles, like his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, had serious reservations about experienced pilot William’s decision to fly his young family around the country in a helicopter.

Haunted by the tragic 1967 crash that killed the captain of the Queen’s Flight, senior royals expressed deep concern for the safety of the Wales family, fearing that similar incidents could dramatically disrupt the line of succession.

In a passage published by the Mail Online, Jobson wrote: “After being diagnosed with cancer, King Charles — perhaps reminded of his own mortality — echoed the concerns of his late mother. And when William refused to stop flying with his family, Charles insisted he sign a formal document acknowledging the risks involved and taking full responsibility for his actions.

“It would of course be small consolation in the face of an unspeakable tragedy, let alone the prospect of King Harry and Queen Meghan…”

The intriguing biography will be available for purchase from August 1.
