World Heritage Committee delegates explore Delhi with heritage walk leaders | Events Film News

Heritage walks are designed to provide delegates with an immersive experience of Delhi’s rich historical and cultural heritage.

Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) is organizing exclusive Heritage Walks for the delegates of the World Heritage Committee conference. The walking walks began on July 21 and will be held in the capital till July 31. Around 2,500 delegates from 190 countries are participating in this conference and 530 of them have registered for the walks. Delhi’s renowned heritage walk leaders Dr Swapna Liddle, a historian and author, Sohail Hashmi, a historian and author, storytellers Anas, Nitika Arora, Mobi Sara, Tokeer and Lahar Zaidi will be leading the walks.
These heritage walks are designed to provide an immersive experience of Delhi’s rich historical and cultural heritage.

The walks that run between 6:00 am and 8:00 am take place at Shahjahanabad, to explore the architectural wonders of Old Delhi, Mehrauli Archaeological Park, to delve into the layered history of one of Delhi’s oldest and most significant sites, Hauz Khas, to wander through the picturesque ruins of this medieval complex, known for its tranquil lake and historical monuments. The walks that run between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm take place at Qutub Complex, to discover the grandeur of the Qutub Minar and the surrounding historical structures in a serene evening ambiance and Dilli Haat INA, to experience the vibrant cultural showcase of crafts and cuisines from various parts of India.

These Heritage Walks offer delegates a unique opportunity to experience Delhi’s diverse and rich cultural heritage, which is an integral part of India’s identity.
