The Ministry of Defence has provided an update on the situation regarding the fires in the country.

In the past 24 hours, 23 outbreaks have been reported, 4 of which are still active:

At the waste collection point in Vlora.

In Torovicë and Malecaj of the municipality of Lezhë.

And also in the village of Kameras, municipality of Durrës.

Fire teams are concentrated in these three areas.

NOTIFICATION

According to data from the National Operational Center for Civil Emergencies, 23 fire outbreaks have been reported in the last 24 hours, of which it was possible to isolate 19 outbreaks. Today, the foci are still active in:

The waste collection site of the Municipality of Vlorë, for which the capacities of the district level, supported by the capacities of the central government and private entities, have been mobilized.

The focus of the fire in the village of Malecaj of the municipality of Lezhë, which continues today with low intensity. During the last evening it was possible to avoid the risk of the fire spreading to the Shqut and Ish Kampi districts of this village.

In this municipality, the fire in the village of Torovicë is nearing final extinction. Local government structures supported by FA are continuing the operation.

The fire zone is located in the village of Kameras, Durrës municipality, where the capacities of Durrës and Tirana districts were deployed yesterday, preventing the fire from spreading through the forest and centuries-old olive trees.

Today the fire brigade and the volunteer force were in action.

The fire in the village of Zogaj, Tropoje municipality, where the armed forces, local structures, supported by a KFOR helicopter, worked yesterday. The operation to control and extinguish the fire continues today.

In the municipalities of other regions of the country, the situation is currently relatively calm.

The National Agency for Civil Protection and the FA continue to assist the community in collaboration with the local government.
