Broadway & Mid-Town Tour at the Architectural Heritage Center in Portland, OR – Saturday, July 27

Beginning in the 1890s, the area between Southwest Broadway and Ninth Avenue in downtown underwent a dramatic transformation from a residential suburb to a bustling commercial and cultural district. This tour takes you inside what are now some of the most recognizable and architecturally significant buildings in the city. You’ll see the work of some of Portland’s finest architects of the early 20th century, including A.E. Doyle, John V. Bennes, and Morris Whitehouse, while also hearing stories about the city’s first public library and former park blocks lost to development.
