FIRE, ACCIDENT, FIRE ALARMS AMONG SERVICE ORDERS ON FRIDAY

The 38e The largest wildfire of the year was reported in Indiana County on Friday.

The fire was reported at 11:34 last night along Park Road in Young Township. Iselin and Coal Run fire departments were called to the fire. There is no word on the extent of the fire damage or how the fire started.

That was one of a handful of calls reported Friday by Indiana County 911. The calls began at 10:06 a.m. with a carbon monoxide alarm on Osborn Street in New Florence, Westmoreland County. The Armagh Fire Department was dispatched to the scene. At 11:45 a.m., a fire alarm was activated on Galinac Lane in Young Township. The Coal Run and Iselin fire departments were dispatched to the scene.

Members of the Indiana Fire Association were very busy with two physical rescue calls and one vehicle crash. The first of the rescue calls was at 3:29 PM along Old Route 119 South in White Township. The second was at 6:20 PM along Shelly Drive in White Township. The vehicle crash was at 3:53 PM on South 6e Street in Indiana Borough, and firefighters were joined on the call by Indiana Borough Police and Citizens’ Ambulance. Details have not yet been released.
