Latur, July 27 (PTI) Two persons were killed and three others seriously injured after a car rammed into a stationary tractor from behind on a highway in Maharashtra’s Latur district at high speed, police said on Saturday.

The tractor-trailer was loaded with electrical equipment for a state-run discom. The car accident around 8.30 pm on Friday claimed the lives of Dinesh Dandagule (47) and Sachin Kusalkar (35), an official said, adding that two of the injured were originally from West Bengal.

According to police, the impact threw the car off the road and left the front completely destroyed.

Villagers rushed to the scene to help the injured.
