Ukrainian intelligence sabotages 3 Russian helicopters, source says

This week, Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) sabotaged three Russian military helicopters deep inside Russia, an intelligence source told the Kyiv Post on Saturday, July 27. On July 21, around 3 a.m., HUR damaged Mi-28 and Ka-226 helicopters parked at the Moscow-based Mil-Kamov National Center for Helicopter Construction, the source said.

According to HUR, the public knew about the explosions at the air base because they had seen fire there. However, Russian authorities “hid the facts about their own negligence from the Russian population.”

Three days later, HUR damaged another Mi-8 at Kryazh air base in the Samara region, some 860 kilometers away.

It was an active week for HUR. According to a source of Kyiv Post, HUR also carried out drone strikes on three Russian air bases, plus an oil refinery, early Saturday morning.

According to a source at the Kyiv Post, HUR hackers have been conducting large-scale cyberattacks since July 23, mainly on Russian financial institutions.
