Goyal also referred to the record highs of the stock market and said the tax proposals in the Union Budget will benefit a large section of the population.

According to Goyal, the Union Budget aims to empower SMEs and increase the limit for Mudra loans.

He said financial support will be provided for the establishment of 50 multi-product food irradiation units in the SME sector and the establishment of 100 food quality and safety testing laboratories with NABL accreditation will be facilitated.

Goyal also spoke about the government’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure.

He said the government has earmarked Rs 11,11,000 crore for capital expenditure in the current year’s budget and such projects have a multiplier effect on the economy.

He said that 3.4 percent of GDP allocation to capital expenditure was unprecedented. The Union Budget was presented in Parliament by the Finance Minister earlier this week. (ANI)
