Water supply crisis continues in Havana

The water supply crisis in Havana continues to exist due to a shortage of pumping equipment, worsening the situation since Sunday, when there was a failure in the main conductor of the Cuenca South water source left half the city without water.

Rosaura Socarras Ordazthe company’s deputy chief operating officer, indicated that the most severe conditions are occurring in the five municipalities in the center of the capital, as well as Farmerswhere the most important issues are concentrated.

According to the specialist, the damage has been reduced by the installation of pumping stations. On Thursday, 15 were operational and two more were to be installed on Friday and Saturday.

Repair teams are working day and night on the Cuenca South And Ariguanabo supply sources serving the central and western municipalities of the capital. Cuenca South is currently operational with 17 of the usual 19 units.
