Accra, July 27, 2024 – MTN Ghana has completed 80 percent of its planned network upgrade across the country. The upgrade began in June 2024 and is expected to be completed in August 2024.

This upgrade will replace the existing mobile network infrastructure with more efficient and environmentally friendly equipment.

Mr. Thomas Motlepa, Chief Technical Officer of MTN Ghana, said the company is committed to providing customers with unparalleled network service.

He said: “Our customers remain the core of our business. This upgrade ensures we have a more reliable and robust network and helps achieve network virtualization and increased capacity for optimal service delivery.”

Mr. Motlepa said: “We are grateful to our valued customers and stakeholders for their patience and support during the period, especially as we experienced some isolated network outages.”

The network modernization is expected to be completed by the end of August 2024.

Customers experiencing service disruptions can call MTN’s toll-free number 100 or contact MTN via social media.

MTN plans to invest $1 billion in its network by 2025, as promised.

The company continues to expand its coverage, improve customer data experience and promote sustainable practices.
