Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza II personally visited Coron to inaugurate the new Land Transportation Office (LTO) extension office in the city on July 25.

The opening of the new extension office is in line with the government’s goal, led by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., to bring public services closer to the people, the LTO said before this weekend.

The newly established LTO office in Coron is part of a comprehensive undertaking spearheaded by Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista and Mendoza. The primary objective is to improve road infrastructure and promote road safety.

LTO said the new office demonstrates the government’s commitment to effective governance and facilitation of commercial activities, which are crucial to preventing illegal transportation activities and enforcing the ‘No Registration, No Travel’ policy.

The LTO stated that the extension office will provide services to residents of Coron and nearby municipalities such as Busuanga, Culion Island, Linapacan and other surrounding islands.

“Previously, these residents had to travel an arduous 300-kilometer journey, which took about eight hours, to reach the nearest LTO district office in Puerto Princesa City,” the transport agency said.

Mendoza expressed his gratitude to all those involved in making the new office a reality. He also praised the dedication of LTO staff, whose efforts help restore the agency’s confidence and security among the Filipino people.

Coron Mayor Mario Reyes Jr. played a major role in this endeavor and demonstrated his tireless dedication to the welfare of the people he represents.

According to LTO, his contributions paved the way for LTO Coron, which now allows the residents of the city and surrounding regions to benefit from improved availability of essential public services.
