Stabbing in The Bronx leaves man dead


BRONX, NY—A man was found stabbed to death early Saturday morning at 1117 Westchester Avenue, prompting a police investigation. The incident was reported to authorities within the boundaries of the 41st Precinct around 7:01 AM.

Upon arrival, police officers discovered an unknown male with a stab wound to the torso. Emergency medical services were immediately called to the scene and transported the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

At this time, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of his family. Authorities are appealing to the public for information regarding the incident.

  • Jackson Knights of Columbus Host First Annual Military Appreciation Day

    JACKSON, NJ—The local Knights of Columbus are preparing to host their 1st annual Military Appreciation Day, scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2024, at their Council House on Bartley Road in Jackson. A rainy day is planned for August 4.

    This inaugural event is dedicated to honoring and supporting both veterans and active military personnel. All proceeds from the event will benefit two important causes: the Knights of Columbus’ Send a Hero Home for the Holidays program and Rebuilding Warriors.

    The Send a Hero Home program helps active-duty military members from local bases in New Jersey travel home for the holidays by covering their airfare. Meanwhile, Rebuilding Warriors provides highly trained service/companion dogs to veterans who have suffered an amputation or been diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) or TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury).

    Visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to enjoy the day’s activities, including live music. Additionally, a Super 50/50 raffle will be held, with tickets available for purchase at the club for $10 each. This event provides a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together in support of those who have served and continue to serve our country.

  • Public assistance sought in finding missing Bronx man

    BRONX, NY—New York City police are urgently asking the public for help in locating Michael Texidor, a 28-year-old Bronx resident who has been reported missing since early Saturday morning.

    Texidor was last seen at his residence at 1836 Holland Avenue within the boundaries of the 49th Precinct at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27. He is described as a black, Hispanic male with a medium complexion, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 250 pounds.

    At the time of his disappearance, Texidor was wearing a gray shirt, black shorts, and gray/white sneakers. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is encouraged to contact local authorities. The NYPD and Texidor’s family are extremely concerned for his safety and are seeking any information that may lead to his safe return.
