Investment Opportunities: South Korean delegation explores investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: A delegation from South Korea recently held discussions with the state government for setting up business incubation centres with institutional involvement in agri-tech. The discussions focused on WEVIO Global-Korea’s collaboration with the state government to boost investments in agri-tech, food processing, aqua, biotech, pharma and electronics MSMEs and to strategically collaborate for soft landing and scaling up of Korean companies in the state. The Korean MSME industry also showed its willingness to invest in AP by tapping into various MSME sectors. The delegation led by Calvin Seungwon Yi, CEO of Wevio Global, Inc. met MSME, SERP and NRI empowerment minister Kondapalli Srinivas and industries commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar. The delegation expressed its willingness to carry out technology transfer in the MSME sector to strengthen local industries. Cherukuri highlighted the state’s facilitating and hassle-free business environment for investors. He explained the development of new product-based MSME clusters and conversion of existing 28 special MSME clusters/parks in seven districts into product-specific clusters with technology and expert interventions. “We are ready to provide full support to investors. AP is the best state for investors to put their money in due to its huge infrastructure and friendly administration,” Cherukuri said. The discussion continued with emphasis on the focus on MSME segment, private participation in development of MSME parks and the door-to-door survey being conducted by the state government to understand the micro entrepreneurs and their challenges. Minister Kondapalli Srinivas explained the micro industries and the RAMP programme being implemented at the state level to improve the performance of MSMEs.

MSME Budget 2024: Sitharaman proposes Rs 100 crore credit guarantee scheme, increases MUDRA lending limit

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced measures to boost MSMEs, including a Rs 100-crore credit guarantee scheme. Public sector banks will conduct internal credit assessments of MSMEs. The MUDRA lending limit in the Tarun category will double to Rs 20 lakh. Additional initiatives include industrial parks, e-commerce export hubs and expanding SIDBI branches to support MSME clusters.
