Victimhood politics must stop, says CM Murad

SUJAWAL – “We have to meet the needs of the people of Sindh as that is the vision of Pakistan People’s Party,” Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said while talking to local reporters in Raj Malik village, Sujawal district, on Saturday.

The Sindh Chief Minister visited Raj Malik to convey his condolences to District Council Chairman Danish Khan Malkani after the demise of his father, veteran politician Raees Ghulam Qadir Malkani, who passed away in Karachi late on Wednesday night.

“The provincial government, as well as the federal government, is taking the issue of prolonged power outages seriously,” Murad Ali Shah asserted. “President Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are committed to solving this problem, and they have issued special directives to work on the solar project.”

Recalling the contributions of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto to tackle the electricity crisis, he said, “The former Prime Minister launched a private sector policy to tackle the electricity crisis, which was later followed by countries like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.” “It is quite unfortunate that the previous governments did not devise effective strategies to solve this problem once and for all,” he said, adding that the capacity in Sindh is 40,000 megawatts while the requirement is 20 to 22 thousand megawatts.

During the media call, the provincial chief executive advised PTI not to create political chaos in the country. “Despite some reservations, we have wholeheartedly accepted the Supreme Court’s decisions; now the PTI members must choose the right path.”

“The trend of political victimisation was started by the PTI government; we still remember how Asif Ali Zardari, Fariyal Talpur and other leaders of the PTI and PML-N were victimised by them,” the CM recalled, adding that they wanted the PTI to emerge as a full-fledged political party.

He stressed the importance of the oath taken by a member of the assembly and said, “Defending the constitution is equivalent to defending the country.” The PTI leadership wanted to hold talks with the establishment, which was a positive move. The CM lauded the role of Ghulam Qadir Malkani in Sindh politics and said that his death has left a vacuum in Sindh politics. During the visit, he was accompanied by provincial ministers Riaz Shah Shirazi, Fariyal Talpur, Jam Khan Shoro, Shafqat Shah Shirazi, and others.
