Auto show rolls into Newtown: Here’s what you need to know

Today’s show brings hundreds of antique and classic cars to historic State Street in Newtown Borough.



NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Classic and antique cars and trucks representing a century of automotive history descend on Newtown today (Sunday, July 28) for the highly anticipated Newtown Antique & Classic Auto Show.

This year’s event is presented by the Newtown Business Association and will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on State Street, with the town’s historic streetscape serving as the backdrop for the show.

The annual show is a fixture of the summer season in Newtown, attracting thousands of spectators to an impressive display of classic and vintage cars. Car enthusiasts from near and far will be exhibiting their beloved vehicles and competing for trophies in 14 categories, ranging from pre-1959 models to trucks, Corvettes and more.

State Street will be transformed into a vibrant display of automotive history, offering visitors a unique opportunity to view beautifully restored and preserved vehicles up close. The festive atmosphere promises fun for the whole family, with plenty of photo opportunities and chances to learn more about the rich heritage of classic cars.

Show Chairman Dan Petty encourages everyone to “not miss this unforgettable event that celebrates the beauty and craftsmanship of classic cars. Whether you are a classic car enthusiast or just looking for a fun day out, the Newtown Antique & Classic Auto Show has

Pedestrian warning

There will be increased pedestrian traffic in the area of ​​Washington Avenue and State Street. Motorists are asked to watch for pedestrians in the crosswalk and use caution. There will be road closures and parking restrictions, so please allow extra time.

Parking restrictions

From 6:30 PM parking is prohibited in the following streets:

  • State Street between Centre Avenue and Jefferson Street on both sides of the street.
  • Jefferson Street between North State and Liberty Streets, on both sides.
  • Greene Street between North State Street and Liberty Street, on both sides.

What is closed

  • Starting at 7 a.m., State Street will be closed between Centre Avenue and Jefferson Street.

What is open

  • The Jefferson Street and Washington Avenue bridges remain open to traffic.
  • Local businesses are open during the show.
  • Newtown Borough council car parks are open for the event and for local businesses.
