Ranked choice voting (defense of democracy); end unconstitutional, illegal, abusive jurisdictional “laws” and “orders”; government and corporations serve the people (not the other way around); quality schools; fair, free global trade; no premature demise of analog television; clean, green, renewable energy sources; support the economic and financial future of our troops; no wars in Iraq and Afghanistan or bank bailouts; enforcement of immigration laws targeting abusive employers; progressive taxation of high incomes; universal health care; ProLife (exceptions: rape, incest, significant health risk); UN-centered global unity are among my commitments.

Ranked voting, like caucusing, is a way to improve the voter’s vote. Ranked voting is a more complete way to improve the voter’s vote and therefore improves democracy more than caucusing. Caucusing allows people to discuss and estimate the strength of candidates, then choose one and proceed with the voting itself. The problem is that this eliminates the other candidates and if the estimate was wrong, the best candidate is accidentally eliminated.

With ranked voting, the voting can begin. During the voting, the vote itself determines the strength of the different candidates (which is better than estimating) without excluding anyone until the best candidate is chosen.

Rank choice voting is necessary to defend our elections because it protects against vote thieves who split an opponent’s vote. It means that voters rank candidates in the order in which the voter prefers them. If a candidate has more than half the votes after each voter’s first ranked choice is counted, then that candidate is the winner. However, if no one has a majority at that point, it is avoidable and therefore ridiculous to let the person with the most votes but less than a majority steal the election. In ranked choice voting, everyone’s additional ranked choices are added to the count until someone has a majority. After all the ranks are added, only the candidate who does not have a majority and receives the most votes, if no one has a majority, wins.

The “opinions” of the judiciary that change legislative or executive actions at the same level of government without, at the very least, approval of a legislative panel are disobedient (to the legislative branch). (judicial superior)) unconstitutional illegitimate. Jurisprudence “laws” are ex post facto and thus also violate our Constitution’s prohibition of ex post facto laws.

Top 2 primary is a useful step in the right direction of governance. Ranked choice voting is an even more important step.

I ask for your vote.

I have lived and worked in Washington for over 20 years. My daughters grew up here and now I have the pleasure of watching my grandchildren grow up here as well. I am running for Congress because I want your family and mine to have a better and more opportunity-filled Washington. I have announced my candidacy for Congress in 2023 and for over a year we have been traveling this 7,000 square mile district. The message I hear from voters is that they want a Congressman who listens and takes action!

My experiences bring a unique perspective to this role. As a former military officer, I have seen the price of freedom and the sacrifices required to keep us safe. I have volunteered with a microfinance organization that supports entrepreneurs with a mission of self-reliance through self-employment. I chaired our local House Government Affairs Committee, where I supported and advocated for business owners. In Congress, I will continue to support entrepreneurship and pave the way for small businesses to thrive.

As a commercial banker, I analyze finance. In Congress, I will examine our budget and find ways to support small businesses and families. We have been overextended for too long; it is time to have a Congresswoman who knows how to balance a budget. I will work to help our agricultural producers, many of whom have asked for help but have been ignored. It is time to support first responders. I look forward to tackling the drug epidemic and providing first responders with the resources they need. Community leaders across the district have recognized that we need change, and I have the support of local elected officials and voters from every part of the district.

Washington needs a Congressman who takes action!

You sent me to Congress because you knew I would defend you the same way I have defended children and families as a pediatrician for over 20 years. I promised to be an independent and effective voice for our district, someone willing to work with both parties to achieve results.

I stood up to big oil and big grocery stores to stop the companies from charging exorbitant prices. I voted for the PACT Act to ensure millions of veterans get the health care they deserve. I increased funding for federal law enforcement to combat fentanyl, providing $4.4 million for body cameras, first responders, and training for local police. Everyone deserves to feel safe in our communities.

As the first pediatrician in Congress, I helped pass legislation to lower the cost of prescription drugs, including capping the cost of insulin at $35 per month for seniors. As a physician, I will always fight to protect a woman’s right to make her own decisions about her health care without government interference.

I have worked with both parties on behalf of our farming communities to promote sustainable agriculture, advocate for sensible immigration reform, and resolve supply chain disruptions so farmers can get their goods to market. I will continue to advocate for our cherished public lands, clean air, and water.

With over 100 town halls, I have listened to you, learned from you, and defended you in Congress. It is an honor to serve you and I humbly ask for your vote.

Endorsements: League of Conservation Voters, Washington State Labor Council, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Alliance for Gun Responsibility, Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison, and mayors across the county, including Issaquah Mayor Pauly and Wenatchee Mayor Poirier.

We watch our leaders set the world on fire while things are no better at home. While housing, healthcare, and childcare costs skyrocket, our hard-earned tax dollars are used to fund genocides that kill tens of thousands of children. While corporations evade taxes, bust unions, fire workers, and make record profits right here in our backyard, our current leadership votes to censor true progressives who are standing up for the civil rights cause of our time.

Washingtonians deserve a leader who will stay true to their principles and lead with integrity, a leader who will bring us together. Today more than ever, we need the moral clarity and political courage to make this happen.

Throughout my career, I have advocated for the civil rights of refugees and immigrants across the country. I fought the Trump administration as a plaintiff in the lawsuit challenging the unconstitutional, racist Muslim travel ban. As a volunteer and advocate, I have spent decades helping vulnerable families.
