Company launches platform to revolutionize access to solar energy

In a bid to increase access to solar energy in Nigeria, energy company Groupower has launched a solar energy platform that aims to provide households and industries in Nigeria with accessible solar energy.

Yeshua Russel, Groupower project manager, said the platform aims to leverage the latest technology to streamline access to solar energy, making renewable energy more inclusive and sustainable.

Speaking at the launch yesterday in Abuja, he said: “Our platform brings together multiple stakeholders to provide customers with seamless access to high-quality solar energy.”

“That’s why we founded Groupower, the Uber of solar energy, to provide a sustainable solution to Nigerians.”

“We have put together a network of technical, installation, training, financial and insurance partners to ensure Nigerians get the right solar energy at the right price,”

“We want to expand across Africa, using technology and partnerships to make solar accessible to everyone,” said Russell.

Also speaking, the Executive Director of Technical Services of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Umar Abdullahi, said: “I would like to thank Groupower for this initiative at this critical time when renewable energy, especially solar, is at the forefront of Nigeria’s energy supply.

“We have about twenty million Nigerians with little or no access to electricity and at REA we have a huge task ahead of us to electrify rural areas in Nigeria.

“That is why partnerships with organisations like Groupower can help us fulfil our mandate,” said Umar.

Ibe Sunday, speaking on behalf of the Minister of Aviation, Festus Kayamo, noted that the project is in line with the Minister’s vision on renewable energy.

The project is a partnership between Groupower, the Ministry of Education, Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and the World Bank
