Some key points from the Finance Minister’s speech

• Reopening of Nizam Sugars
• Implementation of a new system within ORR limits
• Telangana Core Urban Region (TCUR): A new system has been set up: the Telangana Core Urban Region (TCUR).
• Jurisdiction: TCUR comprises GHMC, plus the districts of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal and Sangareddy.
• Disaster prevention and asset protection: Special measures, including use of Hydra, are being taken to prevent disasters and protect assets in Hyderabad.
• Development on the Musi River: High priority will be given to the development of the Musi Riverfront.
  • Recreation areas: Recreation areas, public squares, children’s parks and entertainment areas are being constructed around the Musi River.
• Cracking down on drugs: A strict approach to drugs will be introduced.
  • Drug Free Telangana: Efforts will be made to transform Telangana into a drug-free state.
  • Awareness conferences: Awareness conferences are held to combat drug abuse.
• Satellite towns around Hyderabad: New satellite towns are being developed around Hyderabad.
