Irish city is in top ten of most beautiful European destinations this summer

A new study has found that Dublin is one of the most picturesque summer destinations in Europe.

Cultural heritage, iconic landmarks and vibrant nightlife are just some of the reasons we visit cities around the world. But where are the most breathtaking places to visit in Europe this summer?

To find out, long-haul travel specialist Travelbag analysed Instagram hashtag data and Google search trends for 35 of the most popular cities in Europe, revealing the best destinations for an Instagram-worthy experience this summer.

The research found that Dublin is the sixth most picturesque city in Europe to visit in the summer, with over 23,000 Instagram posts using the hashtag #SummerinDublin. The Irish capital had over 1,300 online searches per month.

Meanwhile, London has been named the most picturesque summer destination in Europe, with a whopping 175,000 Instagram posts under the hashtag #SummerinLondon. The English capital also sees a high volume of Google searches, with a monthly average of 4,400 global searches for the term ‘summer in London.’

In second place is Paris, with over 161,000 posts on Instagram under the hashtag #SummerinParis, highlighting the city’s allure and picturesque charm. The French city also has the highest global search volume, with an average of 5,400 searches per month for “summer in Paris.”

Berlin ranks third with 66,674 posts under the hashtag #SummerinBerlin on Instagram, and Athens ranks fourth with 28,877 posts on Instagram.

Globally, New York was ranked as the most picturesque city in the world in summer, with 36,773 Instagram posts dedicated to its summer allure, as well as 6,600 Google searches per month. Dubai came in second globally, followed by Chicago in third. Sydney and Seattle were ranked fourth and fifth respectively.
