Important Announcements from the District Planning Committee Meeting

Latur District Guardian Minister Girish Mahajan announced administrative approval to allot land of College of Agriculture to Latur District Hospital. This resolution is expected within eight days, as discussed during the District Planning Committee meeting on Saturday.

Considerable efforts will be made to improve health facilities including the addition of MRI and CT scan machines at Vilasrao Deshmukh Government Medical College. New welfare schemes for women like Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Scheme and Annapurna Scheme will be implemented effectively.

The budget of the annual plan 2024-25 has been increased by Rs 62 crore, taking the total to Rs 529 crore. Funds have been allocated for the construction of schools and crematorium sheds, while 200 new transformers will ensure uninterrupted electricity for farm pumps. Minister Sanjay Bansode urged crop insurance companies to expedite claims from last year’s kharif season. The meeting also approved Rs 340 crore for expenditure in 2023-24 and discussed various local issues.
