Dedication, Fear of God Door Way To The Top – Amb. Omar thanks prominent Nigerians for honouring him

Former Managing Director of the Nigeria Ports Authority, Ambassador Omar Suleiman, has described dedication and the fear of God as the gateway to the top.

Ambassador Suleiman made this statement in Abuja, on the occasion of the honorary banquet organized last weekend by his family and friends to celebrate his ambassadorial position in the Democratic Republic of Congo. (DRC)

Suleiman, who served as NPA director from December 2010 to July 2012, was nominated as ambassador to the DRC in 2020 by former President Muhammadu Buhari, along with 40 other nominees.

Speaking at the event, Amb. Omar Dokaji Adamawa reiterated that he fulfilled every role given to him to serve with perseverance, fear of God and total dedication, adding that those who came to celebrate with him serve as a testament to his worth.

Amb. Omar said, “Looking back, my life’s journey has not been without its challenges. From navigating the complexities of the Nigeria Port Authority to entering politics and the realm of diplomacy, every experience has been a profound learning opportunity. I am grateful for the lessons, experience, growth and the opportunity to serve my country in various capacities thus far.

“I must admit that I am very surprised by the generosity with which friends, family and supporters raised this enormous amount of money to organize this historic event.

“It is not only a testament to your kindness but also to the value you attach to me and the assignments I have been privileged to perform, both as a former Managing Director of Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) and as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Every role I have held has been a privilege and a great responsibility which I have discharged with dedication, fear of God and commitment.

“As I look back over the years, I am reminded of the guidance and support that most of you who sit here to celebrate me have given me. Your faith in me has strengthened my resolve to renew our friendships and our continued service to humanity.

“I am proud to have had the opportunity to represent our country abroad and to contribute in my own way to our shared values ​​and goals of progress, peace and diplomacy.”

Present at the event are dignitaries from all walks of life including the two former Secretaries to the Government of the Federation, Engr. Babachir David Lawal, Barr. Boss Mustapha and his wife, former MD of NPA, Alh. Bello Gwandu, Chairman of the occasion, Brig. Gen. Aliyu Kama (Rtd), former Military Governor of Plateau State, guest speakers were Amb. Jameel Zubairu, the Head of State of Protocols (SCOP) and Amb. Hassan Tukur, the Private Personal Secretary to President Goodluck Jonathan, among other prominent personalities.

They testified to the longstanding good relationship with Ambassador Omar Suleiman, whom they described as a Nigerian patriot through and through, known for his dedication, sacrifice and tenacity in the workplace.

Highlights of the event included the presentation of gifts and various cultural dances.
