There is a large and dangerous storm currently moving through the Birmingham metro area. There is a huge amount of very dangerous lightning and torrential rain. Stay in a safe place while the storm moves through. If you must go outside, stay away from flooded areas.

It is moving east. Storms extend into Tuscaloosa and into Sumter, Greene and Marengo Counties.

* At 4:44 p.m. CDT, Doppler radar and automatic rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms causing heavy rainfall in the warned area. Between
There has been 2 and 3 inches of rain. Additional rainfall amounts of
1 to 3 inches is possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is possible
