KSNF/KODE — Missouri residents from 10 counties affected by extreme weather and flooding in late May are eligible for financial assistance.

People affected by the storms from May 19 to 27 can apply for federal disaster assistance.

This applies to Missouri residents in Barry, Butler, Carter, Howell, New Madrid, Ripley, Scott, Shannon, Stoddard and Texas counties.

The assistance falls under FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program, which is open to homeowners, renters and self-employed business owners.

This comes after President Biden recently made the funding available after approving a major disaster request from Missouri Governor Mike Parson.

These funds will be used to compensate for damage caused by the storms in May, such as flooding, wind gusts and tornado damage.

Government assistance was also provided to nonprofit organizations and entities in 15 Missouri counties, including Barry, Bollinger, Carter and Scott counties.

With this help, we can restore damaged infrastructure such as roads, bridges, parks and more.

If you need assistance and qualify, you can submit an application for assistance on the FEMA website.
