Aruma to Implement Systematic Strategy at Fiery Creek

Following the acquisition of the Fiery Creek project in Queensland, Aruma Resources (ASX:AAJ) is planning a systematic exploration strategy for the new area.

Subject to shareholder approval at an extraordinary general meeting, initial field work on site will consist of mapping and surface sampling programs.

Government gravity and magnetic studies have already been conducted on the project. This will be followed by a detailed investigation to understand the structure and alteration systems within the area.

Aruma says that depending on the results, magnetic surveys and follow-up electromagnetic surveys of the generated targets will be conducted.

According to the company, the objective of these programs is to provide drill-ready targets for an initial drilling program in the project area.

Managing Director Glenn Grayson says Fiery Creek is subject to limited prior exploration by mining giants Anglo American (LON:AAL) and Sumitomo (TYO:8053), which “encouraging” Results.

“We are excited about these historic results from the Fiery Creek Project and the significant potential of the project,” says Grayson.

“The undeveloped nature of the project area, combined with the positive historical results and favourable geological location within the prolific Mt Isa mineral district, presents an exciting exploration opportunity for Aruma.”

Results from previous rock fragment samplings by previous explorers show that Sumitomo contains up to 36% copper and Anglo American contains 25.4% copper.

Aruma says limited historical drill results are interpreted to suggest the presence of a potential copper system. Further exploration is required to define the scale and economic potential.

The company adds that the presence of a red-rock hematite alteration is a further indicator of the potential for primary copper mineralization.

The Fiery Creek Project is located in the northern portion of the Mt Isa region. The geology of the project area is interpreted to be analogous to the units hosting copper deposits within the western fold belt of the Mount Isa Inlier.

Aruma Resources is a minerals exploration company focused on the discovery and development of a portfolio of projects considered to have high potential for copper, uranium, gold, lithium and rare earth elements in South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia.
