Obaseki approves 400-hectare industrial park

Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has approved the establishment of Esan Enterprise Park, a 400-hectare industrial park aimed at boosting the state’s industrial capacity.

The Director of Edo State Investment Promotion Office, Kelvin Uwaibi, who disclosed this, said the new park is part of an ongoing initiative to develop industrial parks and business clusters in the state.

Uwaibi said the state currently has two active industrial parks, with plans for further expansion to cater to investor interest in Edo Central and Edo North.

He further stated that efforts are underway to establish a mechanics village in Auchi, as evidence of the proactive approach of local government officials to attract investments.

He added: “A notable success story is the MoU signed two years ago with a development partner, which has since led to an investment of €3 million in the state’s agricultural sector.

“The state is currently inviting investment proposals and seeking profiles of diligent individuals from the private sector to serve on the advisory board. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their profiles to the state government.

“This strategic move aims to leverage the expertise and resources of Edo’s sons and daughters, as well as friends of the state, to ensure the park’s success.

“The Esan Enterprise Park is a testament to Governor Obaseki’s vision and expertise and offers a promising future for industrial development in Edo State.”
