Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday sought the cooperation of Odisha cadres posted in various ministries to take expeditious action on various proposals made by the state.

The Prime Minister, who attended the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting on Saturday, interacted with officials from Odisha cadre and state officials posted in ministries in New Delhi.

Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida were also present at the meeting.

The Prime Minister also sought the cooperation of the officials to ensure that expeditious action is taken on the proposals made by the state government during the NITI Aayog meeting, an official release said.

To realise the dream of a ‘Viksit Odisha’, good cooperation and coordination between the Centre and the state in these areas is essential, he stressed.

“If India had become Viksit Bharat in 2047, Odisha would have become the number one state and a Viksit Odisha,” Majhi said.

Noting that Odisha has been given importance in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Purvodaya Vikas Yojana, Majhi said that PM Modi’s special focus on Odisha has created immense opportunities for the development of the state. Odisha will be able to achieve the desired goal with the cooperation of all, he said.

The Chief Minister said Odisha needs the Centre’s cooperation in certain key sectors including development of ports, establishment of industrial corridors and industrial parks, proliferation of railways and airports. Enhanced financial allocations are necessary for the growth of these sectors.

Central assistance is also needed for development of disaster-resistant infrastructure, green energy, hydropower and solar projects, the CM said, adding that a wider banking network is also essential to ensure broader financial inclusion.
