Results of 9th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Chairman of the 9th meeting of the Board of Directors of NITI-Aayog on July 28. The meeting was held in the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, New Delhi. It was visited by Chief Ministers/Lt.Governors represent 20 states and 6 UTs.

Emphasis on Viksit Bharat’s vision @2047

Prime Minister emphasis on cooperation and collective effort by everyone States and the Center to work together to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

Purpose of the government

Prime Minister noted that India has achieved steady growth over the past ten yearsThe Indian economy, which is ranked 10th among the largest economies in the world in 2014, will become the fifth largest economy by 2024. He added that it is now the collective goal of the government and all citizens to third largest economy in the world.

Progress in social and economic infrastructure

The Prime Minister stressed that our country has made a lot of progress in the last decade by strengthening its social and economic infrastructure. From a country that was mainly import-oriented, India now exports a lot of products to the world. The country has made its mark on the world stage in various sectors such as defense, room, start-ups And sport-He appreciated the trust and enthusiasm of 140 crore citizens, which is the driving force behind the progress of our country.

Vision of Viksit Bharat through Viksit States

The Prime Minister said that this is the decade of change that brings many opportunities in various sectors. He encouraged states to seize these opportunities and make policies and initiate initiatives. governance programs that are conducive to development through innovative approaches in policy making and implementation. He noted that the Viksit Bharat’s vision can be achieved by Viksit Statesand that the aspiration of Viksit Bharat must reach the grassroots level i.e. every district, block and village. For this every state and district must create a vision for 2047 to realize Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

Healthy competition between districts

The Prime Minister appreciated the Aspiration Districts Program anchored by NITI Aayog, and noted that the key to success was continuous and online monitoring of measurable parameters, leading to healthy competition among districts to improve their performance in various government schemes. Prime Minister emphasized skills and training of youth to prepare them for the job market as the world looks positively towards India for skilled manpower.

Zero poverty target

The Prime Minister encouraged the establishment of river networks at the state level for effective use of water resources. He suggested that we Zero Poverty Goal as a priority for a Viksit Bharat. He stressed that we must tackle poverty on an individual basis and not just on an individual basis. program level. He noted that eliminating poverty from the bottom up would have a transformative effect in our country.

Encouragement for all states

Prime Minister encouraged all states to increase agricultural productivity and diversification and provide market linkages to farmers. He further emphasized on spreading the adoption of natural farming practices which can improve soil fertility, ensure better and faster yields for farmers due to low cost, and also provide a global market for the products. The Prime Minister encouraged states to Demographic management plans to address the problems of an ageing population in the future.

Capacity building of government officials

The Prime Minister has requested the states to undertake capacity building of government officials at all levels and encouraged them to collaborate with the Capacity Building Commission for the same. Chief Minister/Lieutenant Governors gave several suggestions for the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 and also discussed the steps being taken in their states. Some of the key suggestions and best practices highlighted were in the areas of agriculture, education and skill development, entrepreneurship, drinking water, reducing compliance, governance, digitalization, women empowerment, cyber security, etc.

Directions to NITI Aayog

Prime Minister directed NITI-Aayog to consider the suggestions made by States and UTs during the meeting. He expressed his gratitude to all the CMs and LGs for participating in the meeting and sharing their views and experiences and expressed his confidence that India is making progress on the path to Viksit Bharat’s vision @2047 by the power of cooperative federalism.
