CEVA Logistics is the official logistics partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris and provides transport and logistical support.

The CEVA teams are responsible for the smooth running of transport and operational support for, among other things, the Games villages, athlete accommodations and venues.

A key part of the logistics involved setting up the Games Villages, according to the company’s website.

CEVA is responsible for overseeing the logistics for the main Games village in Saint-Denis; the athletes’ villages in Chateauroux, Lille, Marseille; and the media village. These villages will house approximately 15,000 athletes and 8,000 crew members for both events.

The main Games village will consist of accommodation, dining facilities, a medical clinic, a gymnasium, and recreational and green areas.

With over 68,000 square meters of storage space, CEVA teams have carefully stored, transported and assembled more than 225,000 pieces of furniture and household items, from beds and coffee makers to the very last pillow.

Each national team has specific requirements, which CEVA has met to ensure comfort and a high standard for the prestigious events.

There are more than 75 buildings in the main Games village.

CEVA staff are on site setting up every aspect of the village, including a dining hall that will serve more than 60,000 meals daily.

More than 200 employees, including team leaders, operations managers and temporary workers, all trained in-house, are devoting their time and energy to this extensive setup. Another 100 employees will be recruited to support operations during the Games.

During the events, CEVA’s onsite village support will extend to the Games Villages’ logistical concierge. Need a new coffee pot in your room? Running low on supplies in the cafeteria? Need a bottle of water in the middle of the night? CEVA is here to help. The company’s multilingual, multicultural staff operates a 24/7 helpdesk, quickly handling every request and issue via a digital management system.

At the conclusion of the Games, CEVA teams will rapidly transform the Olympic Village into the Paralympic Village in just four days. CEVA will renovate all facilities, ensure venues are accessible and ensure a smooth transition between the two sporting events.

At the end of the Paralympics, CEVA teams will carefully dismantle the Games’ vast infrastructure. These village buildings are intended for reuse as social housing and commercial spaces; therefore, each item must be meticulously inventoried, transported and stored for future use or distribution. CEVA will employ approximately 500 people to dismantle the Games’ villages, the company said.
