Warning: slippery roads tonight and tomorrow

Road weather warning for Tasmania for the northwest coast, central
North, Northeast, West, Central Plateau, Midlands, East Coast, Upper
Derwent Valley and South East Forecast Districts

Icy roads will make for dangerous driving conditions on Monday evening and Tuesday across parts of the Northwest Coast, Central North, North East, West, Central Plateau, Midlands, East Coast, Upper East.
Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts.

The next warning will be issued at 11pm on Sunday.

Tasmania Police offer the following advice:

Please note that black ice is often invisible. Even if you can’t see any ice, the road can still be slippery.
Drive calmly on the road.
Turn on your headlights when visibility is poor.
Leave sufficient space between vehicles.
Obey road closures and warning signs for dangerous situations.
Stay informed about road closures at https://www.police.tas.gov.au/community-alerts/
