Girls injured in SUV accident in Polkton Township

POLKTON TOWNSHIP (WOOD-AM) – Two girls were taken to the hospital yesterday after their SUV overturned.

It happened near Wilson Street and 80th Avenue in Polkton Township when the 12-year-old driver from Grand Rapids accelerated too fast, causing the vehicle to roll over.

Both the driver and an 11-year-old passenger were seriously injured but are expected to survive.
