Minor hit by vehicle in Marple on Friday: police

MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — A juvenile was struck by a vehicle Friday and taken to the hospital, Marple Township police reported.

The incident happened around 6:55 p.m. Friday at the intersections of Sproul and Lawrence Road, police said.

Officers were called to the scene for a report of a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, police found a minor on the street.

The striking driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police.

According to police, the minor was struck by the vehicle traveling southbound while crossing Sproul Road.

The minor was taken to Lankenau Medical Center. Their condition and age are unknown at this time.

The Marple Police Department and the Delaware County Crash Investigation Team are investigating the accident.
